The club

South Valley Surf Soccer Club was founded in 2009 by Jason Carter, who leads the club today as President and Director of Coaching. For over a decade the club competed as South Valley Soccer Club, building competitive youth soccer in Bakersfield from the ground up.

In 2019, the club joined the Surf Soccer Nation network — connecting Bakersfield players to one of the largest competitive club networks in the country while staying locally run, at Coombs Sports Facility on 15440 Hageman Rd.

Every team in the club plays at competitive level, U8–U18, with multiple teams per age group — so development doesn't stop at the top roster. Network membership also brings member benefits like the Surf Select national ID pathway.
